Bullpen Privacy Policy

Effective September 6, 2026

Bullpen ("the game", "we", "I") is a single-developer, non-commercial game. This page explains what the app collects, why, and how you can get it deleted. There are no ads, no tracking, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers.

Who runs this

Bullpen is built and operated by Simon Li. If you have any question about your data, email simonlijiangsu@gmail.com.

What the app collects, and why

An anonymous account. The first time you open Bullpen it creates an anonymous account for you automatically (using Supabase's anonymous sign-in) - no name, email, or personal information is required to play. That account gets a random ID and, once you've named your character, a device-only recovery key so the game can find your same account again if you reinstall the app or your phone clears its storage.
Your nickname. You choose a display name for your character. It's shown on the daily, career, and co-op leaderboards to other players - that's the point of a leaderboard.
Gameplay data. Scores, your daily streak, your in-game wallet balance, cosmetics you've unlocked, and your run history. This is what makes the leaderboard, streaks, and progress work; if you play 2-player co-op, the match/action log for that session is stored so both players' games can stay in sync.
An optional email address. Only if you choose to link one. Its only purpose is letting you restore your same profile and progress on a new phone, via a one-time code sent to that email - there's no password, and it's never required to play or to reach the leaderboard.
A push notification token, if you opt in. If you turn on notifications, the app registers a token with Apple/Expo's push service. This is used only for an optional morning reminder to play, and to deliver a co-op invite if a friend invites you to a match. You're asked for this permission at a specific moment in the app (never at first launch), and you can turn it off any time in Settings.

What the app does NOT collect

There are no in-app purchases and no advertising in Bullpen, so there is nothing to collect for either of those, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDK is built into the app.

Where your data lives

Bullpen stores gameplay data with Supabase, a hosted database/auth provider, to run the anonymous account system, the leaderboards, and co-op syncing. Supabase acts as our hosting infrastructure - it does not use your data for its own purposes. We don't sell data to anyone, and we don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. The only "sharing" that happens by design is the leaderboard itself: your chosen nickname and score are visible to other players, because that's what a leaderboard is.

Retention

Your account and gameplay data are kept for as long as you use the app, so your streak, wallet, and leaderboard history persist across sessions and devices (if you link an email). If you stop using the app, the data simply sits inactive - it isn't automatically purged, but you can request deletion any time (see below).

Deleting your data

Email simonlijiangsu@gmail.com from the address you used to play (if you linked one) or describe your in-game nickname/account, and ask for your account to be deleted. We'll remove your account row, gameplay data, and leaderboard entries. If you never linked an email, just uninstalling the app removes it from your device, and you can additionally email us your in-game nickname/approximate play dates so we can delete the matching server-side row.

Children

Bullpen is not directed at children and is not part of Apple's Kids Category. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
